The Annual Conference is an opportunity to meet up with colleagues and listen to a variety of interesting presentations. This year’s theme is:

COMMUNICATION ISSUES IN THE TRIBUNAL

• “How to get the most from communication with people with dementia and older people with mental health difficulties” Dr Amanda Thompsell consultant psychiatrist in old age psychiatry and Medical member
• “The Nearest Relative: crucial safeguard or awkward intervenor” Steven Chamberlain – Independent social worker, trainer on AMHP and MCA/MHA issues (Registered with Social Work England), carer and Specialist member.
• “Young People’s experience of the Tribunal” -a panel discussion with young service users
• Questions & Answers  with Sarah Johnston Deputy Chamber President who told us: “I feel privileged to be invited to the MHTMA conference. It is incredibly informative and a great way to meet with other members.”

Cost of Conference 

Following positive feedback last year there will be NO COST for any member who lives 60 miles or more from the venue.

When booking, and in order to qualify for this, please provide the first half of your postcode.

For all other members the cost is £25, which remains the same as last year.

Refreshments and a light lunch will be provided.
